Welcome to this week’s newsletter. We have finished all of the baseline assessments and now the teaching can begin. This week we have been thinking about our families and who is special to us. The children have each created a painting of someone special to them and I noted down the reason why. They are all displayed on the classroom wall and our school Facebook page.
Next week we will be beginning to carry out some phonic sessions and begin our number of the week. Each week we will be talking in detail about a given number and we will continue to move along our number street each week. We will be thinking what the meaning of each number is. This will give each child a greater understating of number before they carry on their education journey into Year 1.
Our topic for this half term is ‘All About Me’ we will be thinking about our senses over the next couple of weeks. We will be carrying out food tasting and smelling activities.
From Monday you will no longer need to bring your child into the classroom. Your child will independently come into the classroom and put their belongings away themselves. The door will open at 8.45am and the bell rings at 8.55am.
Please ensure your child has in school: wellies, ring binder folder and dividers, waterproofs (if you have them), P.E bag with pumps and a book bag.
Please make sure EVERYTHING IS LABELLED!!!! We have already had jumpers and cardigans go missing.
Date for the future – Our phonics and reading meeting is taking place on Monday 23rd September at 3.30pm and 5.30pm. I will be giving reading books out on the same day.
Have a wonderful weekend
