Reception- 14.02.20

This week we have been looking at the Lion King. The children have loved describing the characters and have written sentences with the word and in. Some children are starting to write them independently. We will be working on this skill after the half term break.

Also this week we have thinking about halving amounts and the children enjoyed using chocolates and dinosaurs to demonstrate this.

We have also talked about Africa and the children used QR codes and the IPad to find a website to research African animals. The children followed the instructions really well and loved the independence of using the Ipads.

Finally, this week we listened to some of the Lion King songs focusing on ‘I just can’t wait to be king’. The children explored lots of instruments to represent the different animals. They made loud and quiet sounds using the drums, maracas and many of the wooden instruments.

We have finished our Disney topic and it has been lovely to see how much different learning we could fit into the topic.

After half term we will be moving on to a new and exciting topic all about the circus. We are hoping to fit a trip in related to this topic at the end of the year.

Thank you for all your support this half term. Have a lovely half term.
