Reception – 17/5/19

This week the children have loved learning about animals under the sea. The children have learnt lots of interesting facts about creatures such as octopuses and seahorses. The children were fascinated that octopuses have 3 hearts. Also this week the children have been reading and following instructions to design a fish and colour in a house. They then used the fish during Welly Walk. We had a race to blow the fish across the playground.

The nice hot weather has struck this week and the children have spent lots of their time outside. They have been very independent by applying their own sun cream (with some guidance of how much in order for them to not look like ghosts). The sand pit has been opened this week. The children have been using great mathematical language when playing in the sand.

Today we have made fish shaped biscuits and eaten them whilst we had our milk and story. The children loved following the instructions to make their biscuits. Earlier in the week the children wrote me a shopping list of ingredients I needed to buy for them to decorate their biscuits.

Next week we will be focusing on Minibeasts. We welcome you all to our Welly Walk next Wednesday 2.30pm-3.20pm. Please wear your wellies no matter the weather as we will be outside come rain or shine.

Have a lovely weekend
