It coming home! What a fabulous week we have had in reception. It was so lovely to see so many of you at our stay and play, it really brought a tear to my eye. It was lovely to see how excited the children were for the parents to arrive. We spent the start of the week making invitations, writing about which teddy bear the children were bringing into school and making bunting (that didn’t make it outside). The weather improved as the day went on and the children got to enjoy a cake and practise using coins in the shop. These events normally take place many times throughout the year but covid-19 unfortunately put a stop to them. Hopefully next year you will all get to experience, more stay and plays, good work assemblies and invitation to join us in school.
We followed instructions to make our own jam sandwich to share with our teddy bear. The children then wrote the instructions, introducing first, then, next and finally. We all sat in a circle and listened to teddy bear music while eating our sandwich.
Friday was dedicated to football, we all celebrated England making it into the final by dressing in red and white and having a party day. The children enjoyed singing songs, playing football and getting creative with the craft materials. Good luck to England on Sunday!
Next week is our transition week, the children will spend some time with Mrs Sutcliff getting to know her and the opportunity to ask her any questions about year 1. I can’t believe it’s our last week together next week. We have a party day planned, film afternoon and other fun activities. Children will start bringing things home, each day to avoid them having to carry lots of things on the last day. Monday PE kits, Tuesday Welly’s and all in ones then later in the week files and exercise books. I will add photographs to showbie over the week.
Have a wonderful weekend.
