School Dinners

Belthorn Academys’ school meals are cooked on the premises, each day.

The cost of a school meal is £2.30 per day.

Pupils in Keystage 1 are all entitled to a universal free school meal.

Payments for Dinners

Parents and carers are expected to pay for Dinners through the school account via internet banking details of which can be found below.

Dinners are currently £2.30 per day £11.50 per week

Please make it clear on your payment details the name of your child and that the payment is for Dinners (DIN)

If arrears of two weeks are owed, then parents/carers will be notified by TXT, phone call or letter that the school will NOT be able to provide a meal and a packed lunch must be sent for their child.

If you live within Blackburn and Darwen to claim online please use the website www.BlackburnwithDarwen.gov.uk browse by topic at the bottom of the right hand side, click on Council Tax Benefits and Welfare Advice, select School meals. You then click on the Apply for Free School Meals and fill in the form. You can claim for all your children in school not only primary but secondary education. Parents/carers who feel that their child may be entitled to a free meal, should contact customer services at Blackburn and Darwen Town Hall. The telephone number is 0845 0701066.

If you live within Hyndburn to claim online please use the website www.Lancashire.gov.uk enter ‘Free School Meals’ in ‘Search’ the top of the right hand side, click on the ‘Free School Meals and Pupil Premium’ then fill in the relevant form for your child’s school year. You can claim for all your children in school not only primary but secondary education. Parents/carers who feel that their child may be entitled to a free meal, should contact customer services at Hyndburn Town Hall. The telephone number is 01254 220714.  They will require your name, date of birth and national insurance number.

By applying for Free School Meals through either district, this ensures that school will receive the Pupil Premium Grant which School uses to support your child’s education.

Payment MUST be made for meals until notification of entitlement to free meals is received.
