We have had a lovely but busy first week back. The children have settled back in well. In English we have started to look at the story of Cinderella and have been retelling the story orally and through actions, preparing us to innovate it and create our own. In maths this week we have been looking at numbers to 50! We have been representing them in different ways and identifying tens and ones in a number.
In history the children have been learning about old toys and in Geography they have been learning about the seas that surround the UK. For DT this term we have a new project of making fish decorations for our reading corner, we are going to be designing them, making and sewing them and then evaluating them.
Our PSHE topic this term is rights and responsibilities and this week the children have been looking at their own routines. In science we have also started a new topic of ‘everyday materials’ and started this off with a material hunt.
Please continue to read and practise phonics at home. A letter has been out this week regarding a phonics screening test meeting being held on Tuesday 10th March, please return this if you are attending.
Thank you, have a lovely weekend
