This week has been a short but yet a busy week. The children have been busy writing their draft stories based on the book ‘On the way home’. They have added adjectives, speech marks and wrote at length. I am very impressed with the progress over the last few weeks and the superheroes we have introduced are helping the children to be resilient with their learning.
In maths this week we have ended our measure unit with capacity. The children have found the problem solving element tricky so we will look over this again before the end of the year. Well done to everyone who practised their counting in 2s, 5s and 10s last weekend it has had a positive impact on their learning this week.
We had a very exciting Thursday afternoon where we made shops with fruit and vegetables and described them. They children then went on to taste them. There were some interesting responses to the different food items. I have put some photos on Facebook. The spring onions didn’t go down too well but the melon and tomatoes were a hit.
I have sent a message through Showbie regarding a day in the life of school in the past on the 17th May.
Also next week I will be checking reading records daily and we will be tracking in class those children reading daily at home and a certificate will be given on Friday to those who have read every night.
Have a lovely week
