Our second week in year 2 has been just as good as the first. The children have brought lots of enthusiasm and energy. We have been working hard to earn dojos when following the Belthorn Values and the children have been very respectful.
In maths we have continued with place value and the children have partitioned 2 digit numbers.
In English, we have written the story of Rumplestiltskin and have spent some days working on grammar including nouns and adjectives.
In computing we have started our local area photography unit which fits really nicely with our topic.
In history the children have enjoyed exploring old photographs from our school and the children that attended in the past, they were shocked to see that I was one of them. The carried out some historical enquiry and wrote facts and asked questions about the photographs. Some of the photographs were from way over 60 years ago.
Next Thursday we are going on a clue hunt around the village to learn a little more about the history of our local area.
Another fabulous week.
