Year 2 Blog

Year 2- 15.11.19

This week the children have started to plan their own stories where a monster is defeated and they have some brilliant ideas.
I have been so impressed with the children in maths this week as they have shown perseverance and ‘bouncebackability’ when adding 2 digit numbers with exchanging.
In D and T we have carried out some research in Little Bells. Our project is to design a protective shelter for Little Bells. This week we asked the children about their favourite colours and created a tally chart. Although the colour isn’t the most important factor and instead the material is, we still want to ensure Little Bells have some influence on the design as it will be theirs and after all we want them to use it as that’s our purpose.
We have spent some time singing our Christmas songs and practising our lines for the Christmas play. Please keep practising at home. Thank you 
In computing this term we are studying digital art. This week we have learnt how adding colour adds depth to our pictures. We are nearly all confident at turning our laptops on, logging in, accessing paint, saving our work, printing it and shutting down our laptops. We will keep trying and trying! 
Have a brilliant weekend, Miss Trafford
