Year 2- 18.10.19

Wow! This term has flown by. The children are now all well settled into our Year 2 routine. They are earning dojos on a daily basis and some children have made it onto silver or gold star.
This week we have started learning how to use commas to separate items in a list and the children have been excited to learn a new punctuation mark.
As the children should be able to tell you, our class target in Maths this term is time. We have learnt to tell time to the o’clock and half past on a daily basis. This seems to be sticking! Any practice at home will definitely benefit the children too.
The children wrote their own free verse poem this week based on the model of ‘The Magic Box’ by Kit Wright. They used alliteration, adjectives, repeated patterns and different senses.
In Art we have painted our final art piece based around Paul Klee. The children have used skills they have acquired throughout the term, for example, the use of different sized paint brushes when appropriate, mixing primary and secondary colours and experimenting with lines and colour.
I have given out the Christmas play scripts (you should have received a text message too), please help your child to learn their lines. They are so excited for our Christmas play this year!
Happy holidays, Miss Trafford 
