Year 3- 06.12.19

In Year 3 this week we have been very busy with some assessments to see how well we can use our learning from this year. the children have taken the opportunity to apply their maths in problem solving activities.
In English, the children are all in the process of writing formal letters to ask if they can go on a school trip to America to see the real place where Charlotte build her incredible web. They have practised the layout of the letter and have looked at what information should be put in which paragraph.
In science, the children have started to create shadow puppets using their new knowledge of light and dark. They will be spending more time developing short shadow puppet shows to share with the class before Christmas.
After many hours, we have almost nearly just about finished our recycled Christmas tree. It is packed with all of the magazines that we read in class. The children really enjoyed finding tiny snippets of information and recalled reading about the events.
Despite being the run up to Christmas, the children continue to work really hard. Not long to go!
Thanks
