A relatively quiet week in year 3 this week. Attendance is back up to full strength, which has enabled us to be able to move on with our learning in all areas of the curriculum. Our maths has focused on measuring accurately using cm and mm and the children have showed a good understanding of converting between the two.
English has taken a topical turn and discussions have centred around the Coronavirus. We have explored the practicalities of putting a country into ‘lockdown’ as well as the ethics of closing schools and restricting travel. I am extremely impressed with the maturity with which the topic has been approached and it has been good to see children argue passionately for both sides.
The children have enjoyed more Art with Miss Dugdale and have worked on pieces created using wire.
Our science unit on health and nutrition has begun and we will be diving into that more over the coming weeks.
Children were reissued with mathletics passwords this week so please encourage them to log on and have a go.
Have a super weekend and keep those hands washed!!!!
