Year 3- 17/01/20

Another week gone by and yet more opportunities to learn and explore!
One of the highlights of the week was Science. The children had the opportunity to perform a number of different tests to explore the durability, density and permeability of rocks. The children showed that they could make careful observations and used some good scientific vocabulary to match.
This week, we also kicked off our unit based on Emma Carroll’s ‘Secrets of a Sun King’; a story about a young girl from 1922 London who suspects that her grandad has been struck by an ancient curse. The children are excited for the upcoming adventure, as she tries to return an artefact and save her family.
Our work on Egypt is also progressing. We have considered some of the other people in the world during the ancient time period. The children took the chance to look up some of the major world events that have happened so far in their own lives. This should help them to see where they fit in the chronology of the world.
I have been really impressed with the children’s behaviour this week and the standard of work across the board has been good.
Have a great weekend
