This week, Year 3 have begun some science observations. They will be looking to see if plants can grow without soil and have set up a little experiment to test their predictions. In Maths we have started to use our fantastic knowledge of place value to add and subtract 1 and 2-digit numbers from a 3-digit number.
Our English unit has progressed and the children are now really stuck into Charlotte’s Web. The book is introducing some very rich vocabulary and we have started to use dictionaries to find meanings.
The children have been shocked at how they might have been treated if they lived during Victorian times. They were horrified to find out about how young children were put to work in factories and down mines, not to mention the conditions they worked in for hardly any pay!
This week’s swimming session was very successful again, and the level of enthusiasm from the children was great to see.
Keep us the super work
