This week seems to have flown by. The children enjoyed exploring some aspects of Judaism during our RE day on Tuesday. It was great to hear their views and opinions as they looked at how beliefs and traditions can affect actions. I was super proud that all the children were so respectful of everyone’s beliefs and took great interest in studying a religion less familiar.
In Science, we have started to look at different animals and how we can generate questions to sort and classify them into different groups. We briefly explored the features of the 5 types of vertebrates and will continue to make sure that we fully understand them over the next few weeks.
As we continue to delve into the Year 4 maths concepts, some difficulties are beginning to arise. This is partly due to last year’s shutdown. If your child worries, please reassure them that I will be going over stuff again and again. This year deals with numbers up to 10,000, which can be daunting. We will speed up and slow down as we need to though.
In class, we have taken the opportunity to explore some of the French landscape through art. We have seen how painters throughout history have captured the different climates by using colour and have had a go at our own pointillism with some famous French landmarks.
The class have also enjoyed participating in our Macmillan Coffee morning, and had a great time, sitting, chatting and enjoying the cakes, biscuits and hot chocolate.
Have a great weekend and enjoy a little rest.
