The first week back after Easter is never easy but the children have all come back and got straight into work. They have been looking again at legends and finally got to discover the grizzly outcome of the battle between Beowulf and Grendel. The children are now starting to write their own legends and have based the beginning on ‘The Seal Children’ by Jackie Morris.
Maths has been a little recap of tenths, hundredths and their equivalent decimals. The children have remembered how to divide by 10 going into decimal numbers.
We have begun our Science unit on Electricity and will explore circuits, switches and other aspects of this over the coming half term. The children are very conscious of the environment and were interested in the renewable sources of energy that will take them into the future.
Year 4 enjoyed a fabulous Art session with Mr Yousaf this week and worked hard to create optical illusions. They also have a very relaxing time on Thursday morning participating in yoga. It turned out I was an instant pro at this. Who knew?
A reminder that children need their PE kits in school now. With the weather being nice we are trying to get out as much as possible so trainers are a good idea. We are also aware of uniform. Now the shops are open please ensure children have the correct uniform including shoes. Get booked in for those all-important haircuts.
Have a super weekend.
