The weeks are flying by and I am very happy with how the children are progressing. I feel like the children are getting back into the school routine and are remembering lots of previous knowledge.
On Monday we had Mr Lenge teach some coding with the children. I myself learned lots and am really looking forward to continuing these lessons.
The children have done some great writing today. We are reading the fable of the boy who cried wolf and are putting our own spin on it. We wrote some gruesome descriptions about the wolf eating Peter’s sheep. I taught the children about using varied sentence openers and the children applied them brilliantly.
In maths the children have continued to revise work from year 4 as well as moving on to numbers up to a million. I feel the children are really switching on and getting to grips with these big numbers.
We had our RE day on Tuesday and learnt all about Judaism. It was really interesting to hear the children comment how teachings in Judaism were similar to other religions.
I have loved our guided reading topic as we are reading Friend or Foe by Michael Murpurgo. The children have been gripped with the story. We have done some drama and role play around this novel.
Another great week at school. I am seriously loving teaching this class. They seem very enthusiastic and knowledgeable on the world, which is making our project work very interesting.
Have a great weekend
