It’s been a very different week this week, with the Year 6 children and myself all working at home this week and next week completing work via Showbie and Zoom. The children have been fantastic, logging in and out of the Zoom sessions and coming back for any extra help and uploading work for me to mark. I am really proud of them. I am also proud of Mrs Middleton for engaging with the technology and assisting pupils who needed it.
In math, we have been looking at multiplication and multiplying decimals as well as figuring out word problems that involve that process. The children still need some work on this area but we plan to tackle it throughout the year.
In literacy we have been looking at the use of a semi-colon; it can be a particularly tricky piece of punctuation to master. We looked at hyphens which I know we all whole-heartedly enjoyed and
completed work about homophones and homonyms.
Next week, we will begin to look at persuasive texts and the children will start their first writing unit.
It is not ideal they are not in class for this but it is not forever.
Well done year 6 for this week.
Have a great weekend indoors.
