Belthorn Academy Primary School

SEND

Within our school, we strive to provide our children with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) with the best possible support.

In line with the SEND Code of Practice, it our teaching staff who take the lead in our SEND provision. All teachers are required to plan lessons which are accessible to all pupils, including those with SEND. Belthorn Academy’s SEND provision is led by our SENco Mr Carr.

If you have a SEND related question, please contact Mr Carr by emailing: Mr Carr.

We ensure:

  • All pupils are entitled to the greatest possible access to a broad and balanced education.
  • All support provided to pupils with SEND is positive: building on achievement not failure.
  • All staff have responsibility for the management of SEND within their classroom.
  • All parents are regarded as equal partners in the support of pupils with SEND.

The School recognises the importance of early identification and intervention in order to address the needs of SEND pupils, as identified in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0-25 years (2014).
